Country Director, Angola, CNFA Inc.-Farmer-to-Farmer Program

CNFA, an American NGO, based in Washington, DC, is seeking candidates for the position of Country Director for its Farmer-to-Farmer Program. The incumbent will provide leadership for the Angola office, located in Huambo. Responsible for managing a program bringing international experts in agriculture to Angola on short-term volunteer assignments. The mission of the CNFA Farmer-to-Farmer Program is to empower the rural poor to increase income through entrepreneurship, private enterprise, and accessing markets.
Tasks & Responsibilities of CNFA Country Director for Angola:
•Manages CNFA Farmer-to-Farmer Program, located in Huambo, including managing financial resources.
•Manages and monitors progress of the Program.
•Provides technical support for the development, planning and implementation and monitoring of program activities.
•Assembles and manages project teams and volunteers.
•Represents CNFA and builds relationships with donors and relevant stakeholders.
•Identifies and advises on new program opportunities for CNFA in Angola.
•Prepares project reports for CNFA management and donors..
Skills & Attributes:
•Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
•Experience including: negotiations, planning, and budgeting as well as human resource management.
•Systematic thinking that includes judgment, problem solving, and creativity.
•Clear and systematic thinking that demonstrates good judgment, expert problem solving, and creativity.
•Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural team.
Experience:
•At least 7 years of relevant experience including work experience in agriculture, international organizations or in the private sector.
•Experience in managing programs in the private or NGO sector.
•Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment is critical.
Education:
•Bachelors or Masters degree in agriculture, agricultural economics, food science, or other relevant field.
•Must have excellent skills in both written and spoken English and Portuguese.
