Project Cost Accountant

We are currently seeking an Project Cost Accountant to join our fast-paced Finance department, Portugal
Main Responsibilities:
-Establish and maintain foreign business units and strategies
-Liaison between in country financial advisor
-Verifying cost information and comparing to project budgets
-Verifying purchasing and contract documentation against contractor invoices and cost allocation
-Monitoring project costs against budget and forecast
-Preparing reports on project under-runs and over-runs
-Monitoring contract compliance, change orders and budget approval
-Prepare, track project related cost and prepare reports as required
-Interfacing with Project Manager to reconcile cost control reports to GL
-Preparing monthly project cost control reports
-Monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and reconciliation related to international subsidiary balance sheet accounts including multiple currencies – including inter-company and transfer pricing accounts
-Prepare and manage complex set of management reports
-Foreign currency translation, Year-end audit assistance, In-depth variance analysis -Application of GAAP
Education and Experience:
University degree in Accounting or Business Management
Designated accountant or in final stages of attaining an accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA), 5-7 years relevant experience in similar or a related role
Specialized Skills:
Experienced with international business models and subsidiaries
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles
Experience in project cost accounting
Experience in tax accounting
Excellent organizational, planning, multi-tasking and problem solving skills
Highly self motivated, enterprising and results-oriented
Team player, able to work in a fast-paced environment, cope with changing priorities, and meet deadlines
In-depth experience with multi-currency accounting
Assets:
Software industry experience, Advanced Excel skills
The successful candidate MUST read, write and speak English fluently.
