INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS PROGRAMME FOR SME'S OF EU MEMBER AND BRAZIL
MATCHMAKING MISSION
WASTE MANAGEMENT

The Call for Applications for the EU-financed matchmaking mission on “Waste Management Solid” will be officially opened next July 4th until August 7th.
The technological areas and business potentials for European small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Brazilian Solid Waste Management (SWM) market, both for technology and service providers with the aim to promote joint businesses are:echnologies/Opportunities
a) Equipment for separate waste collection: Mechanized systems, social technologies and mixed systems;
b) Equipment for waste separation, separation of recyclables: Mechanized and automated systems;
c) Upgrading of manual sorting systems, social technologies, mixed systems with equipment for mechanization and automation;
d) Monitoring, tracking, supervision, and communication of collection systems, routing, accounting and balance of material flows, ICT tools;
e) Aerobic composting: Equipment for mechanization and/or automation;
f) Mechanical Biological Treatment: Equipment for mechanization and/or automation;
g) Composting and Mechanical Biological Treatment: Monitoring/metering equipment, process management and supervision;
h) Upgrading of dry recyclables as input materials for production processes (plastics, paper, metals, glass);
i) Recovery of resource materials and precious metals of electro electronic equipment (WEEE);
j) Upgrading of construction and demolition debris as input materials for civil construction;
k) Co-processing of solid waste in kilns and Refuse Derived Fuels (RDF);
l) Production processes using secondary raw materials / conditioned recyclable materials: (Please specify input materials and products).
Selected SMEs will have 80% of travel and accommodation costs reimbursed by the EU action.

The Matchmaking mission is being organized in coordination with Sebrae (Serviço Brasileiro de Apoio à Micro e Pequena Empresa), CNI (Confederação Nacional da Indústria) and ABRELPE (Associação Brasileira de Empresas de Limpeza Pública), on the premises of FIMAI Ecomondo International Trade Fair.
CESO is part of an international consortium implementing the project “Low Carbon Business Action in Brazil”. Funded by the European Union, it is expected to last 36 months.
The successful implementation of this project is expected to enhance industrial technology cooperation between Brazilian SME and EU technology suppliers within the scope of low emission technologies.
To meet this overall objective, an effective matchmaking between Brazilian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and European technology providers is currently taking place in targeted sectors in multiple locations across Brazil. In a second phase, these strategic partnerships shall materialise in concrete joint project proposals leading to commercial relations and transactions.
